Mischief Managed - Chapter 1

Happy Birthday Harry, and welcome to my new Backwards I'm Surrounded By Idiots (ISBI) legacy! I apologize for the quality of these screenshots. My settings were still turned down when I started playing as I forgot to turn them back up. Anyway this here is The Boy Who Lived himself, Harry Potter, who is the founder of this legacy. Why is Harry Potter an old man? Let's just say he was cursed into elder-hood by Voldemort before vanquishing him. Or maybe his brief sojourn into the land of the dead cost him his youth. He has now moved to the wizarding community of Moonlight Falls, where apparently it is quite dark at 8 in the morning.

His traits are: Brave, Family Oriented, Good, Green Thumb, and Athletic. I picked Green Thumb as his forth trait because he gardened a lot at the Dursley's and I choose to believe he was smashing at it. That's also so he can garden as his main source of income. I think the rest of the traits are more obvious if you are familiar with the series.

His Lifetime Wish (LTW) is to be Surrounded by Family, which he craves after growing up without a true family of his own. He wants to live until his children grow up, but not by creating the abominations known as horcruxes like his foe.

Here are my lifespan settings for this game. I decided to reduce the lifespan I had for my last attempt from 200 to 150. I noticed I had a lot more points than other players and wondered if my "long" lifespan was the reason. It gave my sims more time to learn skills and LTWs, for example. I couldn't remember what other players had theirs set as but I like round numbers so chose 150. I considered going to 100 but cutting my lifespan in half seemed too drastic.

The first thing Harry does is listen to an athletic podcast so he can start jogging everywhere. It's too bad broom riding doesn't increase your athletic skill (and increase your lifespan), since that's one of his favorite things to do.

Next he pays a surprise visit to his longtime best friend Hermione Granger, who moved to Moonlight Falls after her breakup with Ron. You may have deduced that I am a Harmony shipper (which is fandom speak for wanting Harry and Hermione together). Sorry to all Romione, Hinny, Drarry, etc fans! Even the great JKR herself admitted Harry and Hermione make a more credible couple than Ron and Hermione, who would have needed couples counseling. It is no surprise that Hermione is reading a book when Harry arrives.

Harry: I hear your parents are Dentists. I'll have you know I brush my teeth every day! Sometimes twice, even.

Don't lie to the girl, Harry. I control you and you never brush your teeth because it's not necessary in The Sims.

Harry: I think you are prettier than a vase of flowers.

Once their relationship got pretty high I had Harry try out a flirt and she accepted!

Next followed a series of romantic actions which all went well. His first Hermione centered wish was to give her a hug. I was so glad when he wished something for her! Ugh his hair looks pretty horrid with these settings, sorry.

Aww, first kiss! =D

Harry: Hermione, would you be my girlfriend?

She said yes! Go Harry. I contemplated having him propose and then do a private wedding but decided against it.

Next on the agenda: Get Hermione to move in. Oh, and they're both witches obviously so get to ride brooms. Now that's she's part of the family I'll tell you her traits: Ambitious, Bookworm, Genius, Socially Awkward, and Workaholic. For some reason she didn't have a LTW even though I'm sure I uploaded her with one. I couldn't remember what it was before so I gave her Perfect Student.

First thing Hermione does when she gets home is read a book on her new Multitab 6000. It's the same book she was reading before since she brought it from her old house; this house is empty and doesn't have a bookcase. Blasphemy, I know.

Then they both started working on their spellcasting skills. Harry again attempts to listen to an athletic podcast because the multitab was bugged before and the tabcasts wouldn't work. I had to find the thing in my installed content, uninstall it, then reinstall it but I did get it working.

When Hermione was done practicing magic she decided to cook some mac and cheese. Thankfully she didn't start a fire!

While she was cooking Harry was outside for some reason listening to a Charisma tabcast. I always like to give my sims one skill point in Charisma so they can passively learn it when talking to other sims. It might seem like I'm using the multitab a lot in this legacy but I promise I won't abuse it! I'm only giving him the first point in these two skills. Of course the "idiots" could decide to use it all the time and I won't stop them.

Hermione took part in a time honored legacy tradition of eating on the toilet since they don't have any other chairs.

Harry: Yes hello, I'd like to enroll myself and my girlfriend in university please.

And they're off! I put them both in the Science and Medicine major. She had a few wishes to learn Science and Gardening is one of the skills for that major. Now the question is, should Hermione join the Science or Medicine career when she is finished? Let me know in the comments!
